Infrastructure 2 & Main Garden Contract for Gardens By the Bay located at Marina South, Singapore is a modern garden ~ 101ha spread of forestry, botanical gardens, walking trails and waterway views designed by Grant Associates, a landscape architect based in United Kingdom.
With a green concept in mind, numerous reinforced earth walls with slope inclination of 45o to 60o and of height up to 7m together with some 90⁰ mechanically stabilized earth walls behind lightweight RC retaining walls were designed to allow plants and shrubs to be vegetated on these “Green Walls”.
Green Cosmos undertake the design of these mechanically stabilized earth walls using high strength reinforcement geogrids manufactured by Naue GmbH.
Some 200,000m2 of varying high strength uni-axial geogrids (80kN/m to 400kN/m) were supplied and field installed by Green Cosmos complete with the provision and erection of special formwork system.
